We believe that training a horse is something that takes time and honest effort. This is achieved through a quiet, systematic approach based on classical methods. These classical methods include absolutely no trick training or shortcuts. We emphasize safety in our training and never jeopardize the horse's well-being for a quick turn-around.

Whether starting your horse from the ground or advancing the training into higher levels, our custom programs will incorporate your goals into a full-service experience. We train horses for trail riding as well as general Western performance and have an experienced English trainer on staff for Dressage and Hunter/Jumper prospects.

By starting our horses in our training arena, we begin in a safe and secure environment that is totally non-threatening to the horse. Here, we "sack" out the horse and earn it's trust all while teaching it confidence and calmness. After this, we begin line work, starting on the longe line and then moving onto long lines. During this period, we establish a soft mouth and the horse learns to come to the hand, as opposed to being restricted by it. We then introduce more tack (saddles, etc) and with each introduction, we continue to build the horse's trust and confidence. After this, we begin to get the horse used to a rider's weight and move onto independant riding and schooling. Throughout this, we concentrate on the horse's well-being and safety.

Our classical based methods concentrate on natural flexion, correct gaits and balance while striving to improve the horse's way of going without interfering with his natural gifts.

Our trail training involves extensive "de-spooking" combined with hours of actual trail riding to ensure the horse enjoys the experience in a safe and dependable manner. Here, Rambo poses for a picture during a lunch break in Riding Mountain - he's pretty wrapped up in his job!
